Should you get a massage when sunburned?
It seems that every year, at least 1 person comes in for a massage when sunburned. Yikes.
Or peeling.
The sunburn is worse for them-peeling is worse for me.
Since I specialize in barefoot massage, I end up getting little balls of dead skin rolled up on my feet, and then it looks grody on the sheets.
Every year I send out an email to my clients reminding them of proper after sun skin care in regards of massage.
Since I'm on a working beach vacation (you have to actually work to use it for tax deductions!) I just crafted an email and sent it to my clients.
Anyhoo, feel free to use or adapt this to send to your massage clients!

Hello from the sunny beach in NC, where it's a perfect 78℉, and the UV index is banging!
Let's talk for a second about excess sun.
Sunshine = awesome. Sunburn...not so much.
If you torch yourself, that can be sooo painful. 😭
If you've got a massage coming up, a little prep can make your massage amazing.
Here's the scoop.
▪Sunburns leave dead skin cells that can kinda block the magic of a massage.
▪But a gentle exfoliation before your next massage appointment (I inserted a link here) can help remove those cells and your skin super smooth (think of it like prepping your skin.)
Quick & Easy Exfoliation Tips:
1.Wait for the sunburn to heal completely (usually a few days).
2.Skip harsh scrubs! Opt for a soft loofah, washcloth, dry brushing, or a gentle sugar scrub.
3.Moisturize after! This keeps your skin happy and hydrated.
Remember: If your sunburn is super intense or blistered, wait to schedule a massage (scheduling link here) for when you're fully healed.

💡 Always make sure you add in a "schedule now" button or at least 1 link in the text of your emails to your clients.
This will not only help remind them to schedule an appointment, but you're giving them the 1 click EASY button. (Remember the Staples ads that had "easy" buttons? I want one.)
If you send out a version of this email, hit me up and let me know how many people scheduled from it.
Remember, sending emails to your clients is not always about direct selling. It's keeping you top of mind and gently nudging them to book.
